Large part machining has many unique challenges, requiring larger teams and specialized equipment to meet the needs of the project. As such, it is important to work with a manufacturer experienced in this type of machining. At Technox Machine & Manufacturing, Inc., we rely on decades of industry experience to expertly turn large-scale parts for our customers across diverse industries. Our team of experienced engineers utilizes state-of-the-art CNC turning equipment to produce these components at tight tolerances for prototyping to medium-volume production runs.
Large Part CNC Turning
During the CNC turning process, an operator places the substrate into a chuck to hold the material in place. The CNC equipment then rotates the material, using a range of different tools to shape it into the final component. With the right equipment, CNC turning makes it possible to machine complex, precision parts with large diameters.
CNC turning offers many advantages. Unlike CNC lathes, CNC turning centers can move in up to 5 axes. Capabilities of our turning equipment include tapering, knurling, drilling, threading, boring, and milling. The process offers a high degree of flexibility, enabling the creation of parts in many different sizes and shapes. CNC turning also works well with a range of substrates, making it possible to create customized parts for a range of applications.
With some of the industry’s largest available machinery, Technox can craft parts up to 240 inches long and 152 inches in diameter. Our cranes can move large parts of up to 15 tons. We offer tolerances of ± .001 inches, and the materials we work with include:
- Brass
- Copper
- Nickel
- Stainless steel
- Aluminum
- Hastelloy
- Inconel
- Steel
- Cast Iron
- Plastics

Industries Served
Many industries require precision, large-format components. These components include aerospace components, wind turbines, parts for agricultural equipment, construction machinery components, and more. For decades, we at Technox have provided machining services for industries such as:
- Automation
- Food processing
- Packaging
- Steel processing
- Fluid power
- Construction
- Printing
To determine if CNC turning parts is the right choice for a project, consider factors such as budget, design, and desired material. It is also important to work with manufacturers who can meet the size requirements of the component, as standard CNC equipment is typically unable to machine large turned parts.
Why Technox?
Since our founding in 1976, we have been dedicated to providing our customers with customized CNC turned parts using the highest quality materials and manufacturing processes. Our commitment to quality is evidenced through our certifications and quality assurance procedures. We are ISO 9001:2015 certified, and we carefully audit and test each component to ensure optimal performance. We employ a team of AWS-certified welders to ensure high-quality welds on every part we produce. When creating these components, we must provide a safe working environment for our team. As such, we are always in compliance with OSHA standards.
Our state-of-the-art equipment is capable of machining even the most complex large components, and we can meet the needs of both small and large production runs. In addition to our large-component CNC turning services, we also offer an array of secondary services such as welding and assembly. This enables us to provide our customers with a one-stop shopping experience, speeding up the production process and ensuring a final product that meets the exact specifications of the project.
